The Slow Lane JT, CA

The Joshua Tree collection came out of a few years of driving the same road.

These are the places on it. They run west to east, so Cactus Mart first and the park gate last. Two of them only happen on certain days and those are at the bottom.

Nothing here is sponsored. We just go.

HWY 62 OPEN STUDIO ART TOURS

Three weekends in October. Artists up and down the highway
open their studios. This year it runs October 3 and 4,
10 and 11, and 17 and 18.

Pioneertown. Cabins and a pool, up past where the pavement
gets casual. We got married here.

Flamingo Heights. A restaurant in the middle of nothing,
which is the point. Check the days before you drive out.

Landers. A domed wooden building put up by a man who said
he got the plans from Venus.
